Regular Season Round 23: Macc.B.Yaakov - Hod Hasharon 89-88

Twelfth-ranked Hod Hasharon (8-15) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Beer Yaakov (13-10) on Tuesday. Beer Yaakov managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-88. The best player for the winners was guard Ofir Farhi (187-86) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Swingman Iftach Bochman (196-86) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Farhi is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Beer Yaakov players scored in double figures. Guard Or Ron (181-88) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Jitim Young (188-81, college: Northwestern, agency: Edge Sports) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hod Hasharon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Beer Yaakov moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Megido/Yokneam. Hod Hasharon lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Beer Yaakov will meet Lev Hasharon (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hod Hasharon will play against Hapoel Tivon in Kiryat Tivon and hope to secure a win.
