Regular Season Round 3: Nogales - Guasave 98-96

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Frayles de Guasave (2-1) on the court of sixth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by Fuerza Guinda Nogales 98-96. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 32-23 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. American swingman Bryant Matthews (201-82, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach Chris Terrell used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Rasheem Barrett (196-87, college: Auburn, agency: SportsList Inc.) answered with 31 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) added 23 points in the effort for Frayles de Guasave. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Frayles de Guasave. Fuerza Guinda Nogales is again looking forward to face Frayles de Guasave (#5) at home in the next round. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round.
