The game between Top Four teams took place in Buenos Aires. First ranked host Obras (18-8) defeated 4th placed Penarol (16-10) 79-71. Penarol was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. International power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Joshua Pittman (197-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) accounted for 13 points. The former international forward Marcos Mata (202-86) came up with 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and guard Pablo Sebastian Rodriguez (188-78) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Penarol's coach Sergio Hernandez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Obras maintains first place with 18-8 record. Defending champion Penarol dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Obras will again play against Penarol (#3) in Mar del Plata in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Penarol will have a break next round.
