Bomberos de Mexicali can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Pioneros Los Mochis (0-5) 96-81. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Bomberos de Mexicali's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-15 extending their advantage to 15 points. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Hugo Carrillo (205-83) nailed 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Michael Gale (193-82, college: Centenary) accounted for 26 points and 7 rebounds. Bomberos de Mexicali's coach Luis Nicoletti used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Detrick White (184-76, college: Mississippi St.) came up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Nathan Sims (191-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 20 points respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Five Bomberos de Mexicali and four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Bomberos de Mexicali (1-4) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. It was Pioneros Los Mochis' fifth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Bomberos de Mexicali's next round opponent will be again Pioneros Los Mochis (#9) at home.
