Regular Season Round 26: Andorra - Illescas 70-65

Date: March 18, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked CB Illescas (7-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked River Andorra (17-7) 70-65 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-65. The best player for the winners was point guard Nestor Zamora (178-84) who scored 20 points. Guard Alex Ros (192-83) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. River Andorra's coach Joan Penarroya used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Israeli center Alexey Chubrevich (212-86, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Julio Sosa (192-90) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four CB Illescas players scored in double figures. River Andorra maintains third position with 17-7 record having four points less than leader Clavijo. CB Illescas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Santurtzi. River Andorra will meet Plasencia Extremadura (#5) on the road in the next round. CB Illescas will play against Prat Juventud (#6) and hope to secure a win.
