Twelfth-ranked Porvoon Tarmo (5-37) used its home court advantage to challenge eighth ranked Torpan Pojat (20-22) on Saturday. The visitors from Helsinki managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 21-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Timo Heinonen (198-81) supported him with 18 points. Four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. Even 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) by American swingman Jonathan Heard (198-86) did not help to save the game for Porvoon Tarmo. Guard Jarkko Kyllonen (186-87) added 10 points and 5 assists. Torpan Pojat have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 20-22 record. Porvoon Tarmo lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted Porvoon Tarmo stay dead last with 37 lost games. Torpan Pojat will meet at home Namika Lahti (#9) in the next round. Porvoon Tarmo will play against the league's leader Tampereen Pyrinto where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
