Very important is a road loss of Contern (7-14) against Black Star (2-19) on Saturday night. Visiting Contern was crushed by Black Star in Mersch 88-59. The game was mostly controlled by Black Star. Contern was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Black Star had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Contern's players. Contern's coach Mark Reed gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Black Star maintains fourth place in Group B with 2-19 record. Contern at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Black Star will play against Soleuvre in Belvaux in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Contern will play on the road against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
