Regular Season Round 27: Denain - St Chamond 85-77

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Saint Chamond (12-15) lost on the road to second ranked Denain Voltaire (20-7) 85-77 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-18. But Saint Chamond won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Chamond was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American-Liberian power forward Boakai Lalugba (200-81, college: Bucknell, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Frederic Minet (187-81) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul LanduBongo (187-85) answered with 20 points and forward Regis Aubry (199-82) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Saint Chamond. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Denain Voltaire maintains second place with 20-7 record having just three points less than leader Bordeaux. Loser Saint Chamond keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Denain Voltaire will face Souffelweyersheim (#13) in Souffel. in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint Chamond will play at home against the league's leader Bordeaux.
