Regular Season Round 27: Challans - St Etienne 72-75

Important game to mention about took place in Challans. Sixth ranked Saint-Etienne (16-11) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Vendee Challans (12-14) 75-72 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vendee Challans won fourth quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint-Etienne made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Saint-Etienne had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Vendee Challans was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Serbian forward Djordje Petrovic (202-84) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Xavier Gaillou (190-89) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Four Saint-Etienne players scored in double figures. Forward Benjamin Boutry (198-80) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds and guard Regis Boissie (180-78) added 17 points in the effort for Vendee Challans. Saint-Etienne have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Vendee Challans lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Saint-Etienne will face Get Vosges (#16) in Golbey in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vendee Challans will play on the road against Angers BC 49 (#4).
