Regular Season Round 19: Apollon Ptol. - GAC Eunikos 82-69

The game between third ranked DAS Ano Liosa (12-7) and eighth ranked Apollon (10-9) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. DAS Ano Liosa was defeated by Apollon in Ptolemaida 69-82. The game was mostly controlled by Apollon. DAS Ano Liosa managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Nkem Nkele (185-86, college: Cal-Riverside) contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Apollon players scored in double figures. American power forward Diana Delva (188, college: Hartford) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import power forward Trisha Skibbe (191-81, college: Oklahoma St.) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for DAS Ano Liosa. Apollon maintains eighth place with 10-9 record. DAS Ano Liosa lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Esperides. Apollon are looking forward to face PAOK (#9) in Thessaloniki in the next round. DAS Ano Liosa will play at home against Panathinaikos (#5) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
