Regular Season Round 28: Rosa Radom - Tychy 86-72

Very expected game when 13th ranked GKS Tychy (7-21) lost to fifth ranked Rosasport (20-8) in Radom 72-86. GKS Tychy was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 50-30 second half run of Rosasport. They outrebounded GKS Tychy 34-18 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rosasport especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international forward Pawel Wiekiera (206-78) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Guard Jakub Zalewski (183-86) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Rosasport players scored in double figures. Rosasport's coach Piotr Ignatowicz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international guard Dawid Witos (190-83) produced 24 points (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Pawel Olczak (195-81) added 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Rosasport moved-up to third place, which they share with Sokol Lancut and ISS Sportino. GKS Tychy at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Rosasport's next round opponent will be Gornik (#14) in Walbrzych which should be an easy win for them. GKS Tychy will play at home against Astoria in Bydgoszcz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
