Fourteenth-ranked Monte Hermoso (9-17) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Gimnasia CR (14-11) in Comodoro R.. Gimnasia CR managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected much easier game. Monte Hermoso was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 38-29 second half run of Gimnasia CR. Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (206-80, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Fernando Funes (193-83) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Gimnasia CR players scored in double figures. American power forward Byron Johnson (201-80, college: Belm.Abbey, agency: Dream Team Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Hernando Salles (188-79) added 18 points in the effort for Monte Hermoso. Gimnasia CR moved-up to sixth place. Monte Hermoso lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Sionista. Gimnasia CR will play against Atenas (#7) in Cordoba in the next round. Monte Hermoso will play at home against Argentino (#16) in Junin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
