We should mention about the upset which took place in Lodi, where higher ranked Sunrise Scafati (15-9) lost to twelfth ranked Assigeco BPL (9-15) in a road game 69-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sunrise Scafati. It looked good early as Sunrise Scafati took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Assigeco BPL had a 19-9 second period charge getting the lead and Sunrise Scafati was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-73. They outrebounded Sunrise Scafati 38-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored that evening 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Even 26 points by American guard Jimmie Hunter (196-77, college: Life) did not help to save the game for Sunrise Scafati. The former international forward Nikola Radulovic (207-73) added 16 points. Assigeco BPL maintains twelfth position with 9-15 record, which they share with Tezenis Verona. Sunrise Scafati at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Assigeco BPL's next round opponent will be higher ranked Prima Veroli (#7) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sunrise Scafati will play against Trenkwalder RE in Reggio Emilia.
