Alges surprised Olivais away from home to take 1-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-58. The former international guard Ticha Penicheiro (180-74, college: ODU) stepped up and scored 13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners and Croatian forward Matea Vrdoljak (186-85) chipped in 21 points.
