Thirteenth-ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (11-19) used its home court advantage to challenge seventh ranked Girona FC (16-14). The visitors from Girona managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CB Tarragona 2017 won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where CB Tarragona 2017 used huge pressure winning it 16-11 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-12. The best player for the winners was point guard Ignacio Ordin (183-78) who scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Josep Ortega (201-84) chipped in 19 points. Four Girona FC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Girona FC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Caceres and La Laguna. CB Tarragona 2017 at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Girona FC's next round opponent will be UB La Palma (#9) at home. CB Tarragona 2017 will play against the league's leader Obradoiro CAB (#1) in Santoago de Comp.
