Nafta Universitetas narrowly defeated Akademija at home court in the eighth-final opener. Deivydas Anuzis converted two free throws late in regulatin to seal the winning outcome. Akademija was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of Nafta Universitetas, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Akademija was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. Swingman Tadas Klimas (197-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Nafta Universitetas players scored in double figures. Forward Janas Jurgo (200-83) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and center Egidijus Mockevicius (204-92) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Akademija. Akademija's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
