There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Melilla Baloncesto (14-16) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Lleida Basquet (13-17) 82-78 on Wednesday. Melilla Baloncesto trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 32-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-82 at the end of the game. Lleida Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for center Albert Moncasi (209-86) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Austrian guard Jason Detrick (198-80, college: Oklahoma) replied with 17 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Oscar Yebra (200-74, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Melilla Baloncesto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Melilla Baloncesto's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lleida Basquet maintains twelfth position with 13-17 record. Melilla Baloncesto lost fourth consecutive game. Loser Melilla Baloncesto keeps the ninth place with 16 games lost. Lleida Basquet will face higher ranked Ford Burgos (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
