Very expected game in Warszawa where 16th ranked Polonia 2011 (5-24) was crushed by eighth ranked Spojnia (15-14) 79-55 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Spojnia. Polonia 2011 was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Polonia 2011 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international center Wiktor Grudzinski (208-78) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and swingman Adam Parzych (190-86, college: Bryant) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Spojnia's coach Tadeusz Aleksandrowicz felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Michal Michalak (194-93) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Wojciech Glabas (207-90) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Spojnia maintains eighth place with 15-14 record. Polonia 2011 lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Spojnia will face higher ranked LKS Sphinx (#6) in Lodz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polonia 2011 will play on the road against MKS Znicz Basket (#9) in Pruszkow and be promoted back to the PLK just one year after relegation.
