Regular Season Round 30: Clinicas Rincon - Caceres 86-67

There was an upset when higher ranked Caceres 2016 (16-14) was smashed by fifteenth ranked Clinicas Rincon (11-19) in Malaga 86-67 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a good game for Puerto Rican power forward Angel Garcia (210-88, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Clinicas Rincon players scored in double figures. The former international forward Francisco Sanchez (201-79) replied with 18 points and power forward Jose Angel Antelo (203-87) added 13 points and 4 steals in the effort for Caceres 2016. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Clinicas Rincon moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Huesca and CB Tarragona. Caceres 2016 lost fifth consecutive game. Loser Caceres 2016 dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. Clinicas Rincon will face higher ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra (#8) in Pamplona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Caceres 2016 will play at home against the league's second-placed CB Murcia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
