Regular Season Round 24: Tigers - Crocodiles 72-82

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Townsville Crocodiles (17-10) beat on the road 7th ranked Melbourne Tigers (10-17) 82-72 on Saturday. Melbourne Tigers were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 29-12 charge of Townsville Crocodiles, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Will Blalock (183-83, college: Iowa St., agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 5 assists. Guard Michael Cedar (195-86) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Townsville Crocodiles players scored in double figures. Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) replied with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Lucas Walker (203, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Melbourne Tigers. Townsville Crocodiles have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-10 record having just two points less than leader Breakers. Loser Melbourne Tigers keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Townsville Crocodiles will face Cairns Taipans (#4) on the road in the next round. Melbourne Tigers will play against the league's leader New Zealand Breakers in Auckland.
