Regular Season Round 20: Proteas - Aris 67-58

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Aris (13-7) against tenth ranked Proteas (6-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Aris was defeated by Proteas in a tough game in Voula 58-67. Aris trailed by 17 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 20-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 58-67 at the end of the game. Proteas forced 20 Aris turnovers. The best player for the winners was German power forward Linda Frohlich (188-79, college: UNLV, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. American power forward Ashley Ellis-Milan (188-87, college: Minnesota) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Proteas' coach Alekos Daglas used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Stephany Skrba (188-87, college: Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Maria Bousnaki (172-89) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Proteas maintains tenth position with 6-14 record. Loser Aris keeps the second place with seven games lost. Proteas will meet higher ranked Panionios (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aris will play against DAS Ano Liosa (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
