Second Stage Round 2: Alkar Sinj - KK Split 79-62

The game in Sinj was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers KK Split (1-1) played at the court of seventh ranked Alkar Sinj (1-1). Alkar Sinj did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-62 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of KK Split. The game was mostly controlled by Alkar Sinj. KK Split managed to win second period 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was guard Josip Blajic (192-87) who scored 23 points. Forward Ivica Radic (207-90) chipped in 17 points. The former international guard Srdan Subotic (193-80) produced 12 points and 4 assists and forward Toni Dijan (205-83) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Alkar Sinj and four KK Split players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alkar Sinj left bottom position moving up to third place in Group A, which they share with KK Split and Borik. Alkar Sinj will meet league's second-placed KK Zagreb CO on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KK Split will play against Borik Puntamika in Zadar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
