Seventh-ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (7-15) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Okapi Aalstar (17-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Aalst managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great shooting night for Okapi Aalstar especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Impact Basketball) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Anthony Hilliard (193-86, college: Elizabeth City) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. Guard Stefon Jackson (196-85, college: UTEP) answered with 32 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for VOO Verviers-Pepinster. Okapi Aalstar maintains second place with 17-6 record having just -1 points less than leader Charleroi. VOO Verviers-Pepinster at the other side keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. Okapi Aalstar are looking forward to face Dexia Mons-Hainaut (#3) in Quaregnon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will have a break next round.
