Sixteenth-ranked Near East (4-16) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Arkadikos (11-9) in Kesariani. The visitors from Arkadia managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Near East was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 41-37 second half run of Arkadikos. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Arkadikos outrebounded Near East 38-25 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Near East helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Four Near East players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Arkadikos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Panelefsiniakos. Near East lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Arkadikos' next round opponent will be Koroivos (#15) at home and are hoping to win another game. Near East will play against Panerythraikos in New Eritrea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
