No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Antwerp Giants (12-9) beat on the road bottom-ranked Optima Gent (4-18) 87-77 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American players dominated also this game. Guard Timothy Black (178-81, college: Barton, NC, agency: Limelight Hoops) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and center Graham Brown (205-84, college: Michigan) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Antwerp Giants players scored in double figures. Power forward Monwell Randle (203-83, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) came up with 9 points and 14 rebounds and forward Daniel Emerson (206-86, college: Mercer) added 6 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Optima Gent in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Antwerp Giants. They maintain fourth place with 12-9 record. Loser Optima Gent stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Antwerp Giants will meet Belgacom Liege (#8) on the road in the next round. Optima Gent will play against the league's leader Spirou Charleroi and hope to secure a win.
