Regular Season Round 43: Fukuoka Rizing - Miyazaki SS 94-80

Very expected game when 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (12-29) lost on the road to fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (24-17) 94-80. The game was mostly controlled by Fukuoka Rizing. Miyazaki Shining Suns was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 46-24 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American swingman Michael Parker (200-81, college: Evergreen St.) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Tadaharu Ogawa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) added 20 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fukuoka Rizing. They moved-up to third place. Miyazaki Shining Suns lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 29 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing's next round opponent will be again Miyazaki Shining Suns (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game.
