MIA (#4) forced the game against TSU (#2) into an overtime, but lost by two points 96-98 on Saturday night. The game took place in Tbilisi. But the guests were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MIA. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 18-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. TSU shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. MIA was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Mikheil Panchulidze (192-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 4 assists. Guard Giorgi Gaprindashvili (190-88, college: Midland CC) helped adding 21 points and 11 assists. At the losing side Cameroonian forward Talba Toudjani (201-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Besik Lezhava (193-86) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four TSU and five MIA players scored in double figures. TSU (15-3) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place having just -1 point less than leader Army. MIA at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi GSAU.
