Regular Season Round 24: Hawks - Kings 86-70

Very expected game when 9th ranked Kings (8-19) lost to fifth ranked Wollongong Hawks (15-13) in Gwynneville 70-86 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-70. It was a good game for American guard Gary Ervin (186-83, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 assists. The former international forward Oscar Forman (205-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Wollongong Hawks' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Julian Khazzouh (211-86) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Wollongong Hawks maintains fifth position with 15-13 record. Loser Kings stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. Wollongong Hawks will have a break next round. Kings will play at home against Gold Coast Blaze (#6) in Broadbeach.
