LEB Gold top team - Obradoiro CAB (27-4) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (11-20) in Santoago de Comp 78-63. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 41-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Obradoiro CAB dominated on the defensive end, holding CB Tarragona 2017 to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to CB Tarragona 2017's 32. They outrebounded CB Tarragona 2017 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international center Oriol Junyent (207-76) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Obradoiro CAB players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obradoiro CAB have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 27-4 record, which they share with CB Murcia. CB Tarragona 2017 lost third consecutive game. CB Tarragona 2017 at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Huesca and Clinicas Rincon. Obradoiro CAB is looking forward to face UB La Palma (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Tarragona 2017 will play against Lobe Huesca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
