Important game to mention about took place in Haifa. Ninth ranked Maccabi Haifa (6-16) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 10th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-18) 74-72 in the game for the ninth place. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Rahshon Turner (201-75, college: Fairleigh Dickinson, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Desmon Farmer (196-81, college: USC) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Ironi Ashkelon's coach Eli Rabi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi Haifa maintains ninth place with 6-16 record. Ironi Ashkelon at the other side stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Maccabi Haifa will play against league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Ashkelon will play at home against Maccabi Ashdod (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
