Eighth-ranked Dinamo Sassari (10-13) made lots of trouble for second ranked Bennet Cantu (17-6) on Sunday. The visitors from Cantu managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Dinamo Sassari was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) who scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Uruguayan guard Nicolas Mazzarino (181-75, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points. American guard Travis Diener (183-82, college: Marquette) produced 21 points and 4 assists and Bosnian-Serbian power forward Vanja Plisnic (207-80, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dinamo Sassari's coach Romeo Sacchetti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bennet Cantu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-6 record having just two points less than leader Montepaschi. Newly promoted Dinamo Sassari dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Bennet Cantu are looking forward to face Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
