An interesting game took place in Parana where 12th ranked Boca Juniors (12-17) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Sionista (10-17) 79-69 on Sunday. Boca Juniors was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Sionista, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Forward Alejandro Zilli (200-82) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Christopher Hayes (206-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 26 points. Hayes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Rodney Elliott (202-76, college: Maryland) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Sionista moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Boca Juniors keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Sionista will meet at home higher ranked Lanus (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
