Everything went according to plan in Parana where third ranked Lanus (18-11) won against 15th ranked Sionista (10-19) 77-67 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Lanus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Dream Team Management) who scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Mariano Byro (195-82) chipped in 17 points. Four Lanus players scored in double figures. Lanus' coach Silvio Jose Santander used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Christopher Hayes (206-87, college: Detroit Mercy) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and forward Alejandro Zilli (200-82) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Lanus maintains third place with 18-11 record having just three points less than leader Obras, which they share with La Union. Loser Sionista dropped to the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Lanus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Boca Juniors.
