CIBACOPA top team - Mineros de Cananea (9-2) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat ninth ranked Coras de Tepic (1-10) 85-75. Strangely Coras de Tepic outrebounded Mineros de Cananea 30-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mineros de Cananea made 8 blocks. American players dominated the game. It was a quality performance for guard Davin White (186-81, college: Cal.St. Northridge) who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Derek Thomas (193-84, college: Appalachian St.) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Devon Ford (193-77, college: Idaho) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks and forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: Dream Team Management) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Coras de Tepic in the defeat. Five Coras de Tepic players scored in double figures. Mineros de Cananea have an impressive series of six victories in a row.
