Leader Obras delivered the twentieth first victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Gimnasia CR (14-15) 87-75 in Buenos Aires. The game was mostly controlled by Obras. Gimnasia CR was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Guard Alexis Elsener (196-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Obras' coach Julio Cesar Lamas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (206-80, college: La Salle) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gimnasia CR. Four Gimnasia CR players scored in double figures. Obras (21-8) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Gimnasia CR lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Club 9. Obras will again play against Gimnasia CR (#9) in Comodoro R. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gimnasia CR will have a break next round.
