Mazeikiai surged ahead in the quarterfinal series against Zalgiris-Sabonio. They celebrated at home in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Zalgiris-Sabonio was better in fourth quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jason Warren (201-84, college: Missouri Western) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll.) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Warren is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Forward Edgaras Ulanovas (198-92) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Mindaugas Kupsas (215-91) added 16 points in the effort for Zalgiris-Sabonio. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
