Second Stage Round 3: Zadar - Zabok 92-61
Date: April 1, 2011
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Zabok (0-2) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Zadar (3-2) 92-61 on Friday. Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Zabok's 26. Zadar forced 19 Zabok turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Ive Ivanov (201-85) who scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Jakov Vladovic (186-83) chipped in 14 points and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Robert Lez (200-79) who recorded 13 points and guard Sven Smajlagic (193-90) added 9 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zadar have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group A. Loser Zabok still closes the standings with two games lost. Zadar will face Alkar Sinj (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zabok will play against Cibona in Zagreb and hopes to get finally their first victory.
