Regular Season Round 29: Denain - GET Vosges 87-75

Date: April 1, 2011
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Denain Voltaire (21-7) won against at home 16th ranked Get Vosges (9-19) 87-75 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Denain Voltaire. Get Vosges managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was guard Antoine Belkessa (185-88) who scored 16 points. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Amadou Gacko (203-81) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. American center Zach Gourde (205-80, college: Gonzaga) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized American forward Danny Strong (199-75, college: N.Carolina St.) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Five Denain Voltaire and four Get Vosges players scored in double figures. Get Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Denain Voltaire have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 21-7 record having just three points less than leader Bordeaux. Loser Get Vosges keeps the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Denain Voltaire will meet Saint-Etienne (#5) on the road in the next round. Get Vosges will play against the league's leader Bordeaux (#1) and hope to secure a win.
