Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Unicaja Malaga (16-12) smashed at home 10th ranked DKV Joventut (14-14) 111-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Unicaja Malaga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to DKV Joventut's 34 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded DKV Joventut 42-13 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian center Nedzad Sinanovic (221-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international swingman Saul Blanco (195-85) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Unicaja Malaga's coach Jesus Mateo felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Will McDonald (206-79, college: S.Florida) responded with 15 points and his fellow American import guard Russell Robinson (185-86) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Unicaja Malaga have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Valladolid and Fuenlabrada. Loser DKV Joventut keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face Lagun Aro GBC (#14) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DKV Joventut will play at home against Gran Canaria 2014 (#9) in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
