No shocking result in a game in Athens where twelfth ranked AEK (7-15) defeated bottom-ranked Iraklis (5-18) 81-74. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 29-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. AEK outrebounded Iraklis 35-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Dimos Dikoudis (207-77) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized Cypriot forward Prodromos Nikolaidis (201-78) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Four AEK players scored in double figures. American guard Jerome Coleman (185-81, college: Rutgers) came up with 24 points and naturalized Serbian swingman Vladimir Petrovic-Stergiou (198-77, agency: BeoExcell) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Iraklis in the defeat. AEK maintains twelfth place with 7-15 record. Iraklis lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. AEK's next round opponent will be higher ranked Aris (#4) in Thessaloniki and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iraklis will play at home against Panionios (#9) in Athens.
