No shocking result in a game in Madrid where eighth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (16-12) won against bottom-ranked Menorca Basquet (5-23) 78-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. Menorca Basquet was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Menorca Basquet 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (209-85, college: San Jose St., agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Joaquim Colom (188-88) who added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Isl. Forward Cuthbert Victor (196-83, college: Murray St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Ivan Radenovic (208-84, college: Arizona) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Unicaja and Valladolid. Menorca Basquet lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 23 lost games. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Asefa Estudiantes.
