Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-19) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (12-12) 104-84 on Sunday. Maccabi Ashdod made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Swingman Josh Carter (201-88, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Rahshon Turner (201-75, college: Fairleigh Dickinson, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jonathan Gibson (182-87, college: N.Mexico St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Five Maccabi Ashdod and four Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon. Ironi Ashkelon lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ironi Ashkelon will play on the road against Elitzur Netanya (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
