Second Stage Round 3: Cibona - Cedevita 64-80

Another exciting game was played in Zagreb between second ranked Cedevita and 7th ranked Cibona where Cedevita (2-1) beat Cibona (1-2) on the road with 16-point difference 80-64. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. Cibona was better in fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cedevita forced 22 Cibona turnovers. Cibona was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international swingman Marino Bazdaric (197-78) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Center Franko Kastropil (212-84) contributed with 6 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Leon Radosevic (208-90) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Tomislav Zubcic (214-90, agency: Beo Basket) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Cibona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Cedevita went down to third position (Group A) due to points difference, which they share with KK Split. Defending champion Cibona dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Cedevita will play against KK Split (#4) at home in the next round. Cibona will play against Zabok in Zabok to get more than just one victory in their record.
