BJ League top team - Hamamatsu Phoenix (37-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Toyama Grouses (12-28) 87-53. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Toyama Grouses to just 6 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Hamamatsu Phoenix held Toyama Grouses to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.9 percent accuracy of the winners. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Court Side) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jerrell Smith (206-85, college: Cal.St.-Dominguez H.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Takeshi Mito (184-85) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
