Regular Season Round 24: Bnei Hasharon - Maccabi Rishon 81-88

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Bnei Hasharon (14-10) lost to sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon (12-12) in Hod Hasharon 81-88 on Monday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-15. But Bnei Hasharon won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern, agency: ZAG Advocates) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Bryant Dunston (202-86) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Maccabi Rishon will face Hapoel Holon (#7) at home in the next round. Bnei Hasharon will play against Galil Gilboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
