Regular Season Round 15: Tijuana - Nogales 102-88

Another interesting game for Tijuana Zonkeys (7-8) which hosted 4th placed Fuerza Guinda Nogales (8-7). Eighth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys had an easy win 102-88. It looked good early as Fuerza Guinda Nogales took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tijuana Zonkeys had a 25-19 second period charge getting the lead and Fuerza Guinda Nogales were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-102. Tijuana Zonkeys shot 63.5 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Fuerza Guinda Nogales' players. Tijuana Zonkeys brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Travis Gabbidon (201, college: UTSA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Cyrus Tate helped adding 27 points. The best for the losing side was Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) with 28 points and American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami, FL) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mexicali and Guaymas. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Guasave and Culiacan. Tijuana Zonkeys will again play against higher ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next round.
