Very important is a home loss of third ranked Antwerp Giants (13-10) against eighth ranked Leuven Bears (8-16) on Wednesday night. Host Antwerp Giants were defeated by Leuven Bears in a tough game in Antwerp 75-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Antwerp Giants. It was a great evening for American forward Kevin Melson (199-78, college: Wright St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Leuven Bears maintains eighth place with 8-16 record. Loser Antwerp Giants dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Leuven Bears will meet at home higher ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Antwerp Giants will play against the league's leader Spirou Charleroi where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
