Very important is a home loss of second ranked Okapi Aalstar (18-7) against seventh ranked Belgacom Liege (8-15) on Wednesday night. Host Okapi Aalstar was defeated by Belgacom Liege in a tough game in Aalst 91-95. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Okapi Aalstar. Okapi Aalstar was ahead by 10 points after three quarters before a 30-16 charge of Belgacom Liege, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Belgacom Liege especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (208-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized DR Congolese swingman Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-Lithuanian power forward Christopher Young (206-79, college: Michigan, agency: Court Side) answered with 30 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) and American swingman Anthony Hilliard (193-86, college: Elizabeth City) added 12 points in the effort for Okapi Aalstar. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Belgacom Liege moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Verviers-Pep. Okapi Aalstar at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Belgacom Liege will play against higher ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (#3) in Quaregnon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Okapi Aalstar will have a break next round.
