Quarter-Finals Round 3: Mazeikiai - Zalgiris-Sabonio 83-62

Mazeikiai completed NKL semifinal picture. They edged Zalgiris-Sabonio in the third decisive game of the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Zalgiris-Sabonio managed to win fourth quarter 24-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jason Warren (201-84, college: Missouri Western) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Modestas Sidlauskas (193-85) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Warren is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Paulius Sorokas (198-92) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Gediminas Zyle (209-88) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Mazeikiai and four Zalgiris-Sabonio players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
