Very expected game when 13th ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (12-21) lost on the road to ninth ranked Caceres 2016 (17-16) 78-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Caceres 2016. CB Tarragona 2017 was better in second period 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded CB Tarragona 2017 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for power forward Jose Angel Antelo (203-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Francisco Sanchez (201-79) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Caceres 2016 players scored in double figures. American forward Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and American-Italian swingman Ross Schraeder (196-83, college: Cal-Irvine) added 12 points in the effort for CB Tarragona 2017. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caceres 2016 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Breogan and Navarra. Loser CB Tarragona 2017 keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Caceres 2016 will face UB La Palma (#10) on the road in the next round. CB Tarragona 2017 will play against Grupo Iruna Navarra in Pamplona.
